This software is open source, written in Processing 1.5.1, a free, easy language to utilize. It is written to interact with our ColorMotion software or the the ColorMotion Demo Firmware. Currently available for the 24 Channel High Current LED Controller, and the 48 channel Mono / 16 Channel RGB LED Controller
This software demonstrates using the Live Mode feature to send data from a computer(PC, Mac or Linux) to a compatible device. The source is available, and well commented. Use it to get an idea of how to write your own program or tweak to suit your needs.
The device automatically tries to connect to the second COM port on the computer, if it is not found or in use, it connects to the first COM Port. Once connected it attempts to send the Connection Request command, if it is received, the device sends back its Hardware ID and Firmware ID, which the software uses to set itself up.
First Set the device in Live Mode by toggling the button(red means the device should be in Live Mode and waiting for data)
The 16 sliders,(24 channel uses 8, 48 channel uses all 16) that when dragged can be used to select from Black -> White -> Red -> Green -> Blue -> Purple.
Use the Open Gradient button to open a color gradient, use the mouse to select a color, it will automatically send it to device. First click changes LED 1, next click changes LED 2 and so on.
The Color Cycle button starts a color cycling pattern with the data generated in the software.
There are also Setting Up and Setting Down buttons, which are use to change the patterns already uploaded to the device. The Demo Firmware has all its patterns set already, and they cannot be changed.
Use the full version ColorMotion Firmware and the ColorMotion software to create and upload new patterns.
